Sometimes circumstances arise where you find yourself needing to rehome your Maine Coon. Maine Coon Rescue can help in one of two ways. Sometimes we can bring the cat into rescue if foster space near your location allows it. We can always offer a Courtesy Posting on our website. With a Courtesy Posting the cat stays in your care while the cat is posted on our website and adoption sites. MCR does ask for a $15.00 donation but this can be waived if circumstances are warranted. 

The first step in our process is to submit a Request to Place Application. Please make sure you are filling out the Request to Place Application. Once we have your Request to Place Application someone will reach out to you usually within 24-48 hours. If your request is urgent, please email us at adoption@mainecoonrescue.net. Please understand we try our best to accommodate every request, but sometimes we are unable to help directly. Maine Coon Rescue is not a shelter and we do not have a building. We are a foster-based rescue.

We will not be able to process your request unless your Request to Place Application is complete and you have emailed photos to the address requested on the Request to Place. It is important to be as detailed as possible on your Request. This allows us to better describe your cat and increases the chances of finding a home for your cat.

Maine Coon Rescue can help with screening potential applicants for your cat. We do ask for a $20.00 donation to help with the screening. However, that can be waived if circumstances warrant. Maine Coon Rescue can also provide you with a list of appropriate questions to ask potentional applicants.
