Viggo is such a sweet, gentle cat and loves attention! I think he's been lonely for a long time and needs love. He really enjoys it when you talk to him and pet him. He is playful and loves a laser toy!

 

Most Maine Coons don't like to be picked up, but he's okay with it for short times. He is so heavy it's hard for me to pick him up! While only 15 or 16 pounds, you'll see what I mean! It's like picking up a bowling ball when he is in his crate! He is a really large cat, so I'm surprised he doesn't weigh at least 25 pounds!

 

Viggo is really peaceful and quiet. He travels so well and doesn't meow at all! He is the perfect gentleman. He is great with his litter box as long as his box is kept clean. We scoop morning and evening and that works well. If his box has anything in it, he might poop on the floor. He's only done it a couple of times, and that was before we started scooping more often. Twice a day seems to be good. He has never urinated outside the box. He uses a large regular box and a litter robot. I use a large tote from Walmart like the ones used for storing things under a bed. They are about 5 inches high or so. He's large and needs a large box! I would provide more than one. That way one is always clean. I tried Catalyst Litter which is a sawdust type of litter. He didn't care for that at all so don't waste your money. Some cats do well with it but he did not. Fresh Step or Tidy Cats clumping seems to be good for him. I've also used Slide litter in the litter robot. I just don't think he liked the texture of the Catalyst Litter. 

 

This cat is such an awesome, sweet boy. He will make a great companion for a single person or a family. He would do well with kids also. He currently sleeps with my teenage daughter. His face is precious when he looks expectantly up at you. He really warms my heart when he does that. I don't know how he would be with dogs. He may be okay with dogs that don't chase him. He is a confident cat so I feel he will adapt to most situations easily. 

 

Viggo doesn't seem overly picky about his food, although sometimes he won't eat the more expensive wet food brands. When he came to me, he was eating Tiki Cat. When I gave it to him he didn't eat it. I tried him on Wellness brand, and he wasn't keen on it either. He loves Friskies wet food, although I know a better food would be best for him nutritionally. Before you go out and buy a lot of one type, see how he does for you with different brands and textures. 

 

Viggo was thought to need a complex dental cleaning with extractions. We had x-rays done and everything. His teeth are perfect! We did a dental cleaning for him anyway to ensure good dental health.

Viggo's adoption fee is $275.00. This includes spay/neuter, FVRCP Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, microchip, Combo test (neg/neg), dewormer, flea prevention, and wellness visit.

 

If you are within about 5 hours of Mount Lookout, WV and are willing to meet halfway, no transport fee will be required. You must be within approximately 5 hours from this location to apply.
