THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. Veronica has been with me since she was a young kitten. She has always been skittish, but I have worked on that a lot. Before when I would try to pet her, she would take off and hide. Even with wet food, she would eat but run away if I touched her. When laying on the top of the cat tree she would look down upon herself-appointed kingdom at all her lowly staff. I'd try to pet her up there, and she would look at me with the most disgusted look on her face. How dare you! Ugh! Disgusting human! If "The audacity!" could be expressed on a cat's face, this would be it. She just didn't know how to give or receive affection. When I had her on my lap for photos, she was wound tightly, ready to spring up and run away. It was almost like she was feral without being aggressive. She has never been aggressive, even when I've held her and she wants down. I decided to move Veronica to another area with an older cat in my care. Veronica has done a complete 180! She is still a bit skittish, but will actually come up for affection now. Especially when I've got wet food! Before even wet food didn't change her attitude. Now she hops up on the chair with her tail in air and acts friendly. I think it's finally time for her to find a kingdom of her very own. She will continue to blossom and grow in her own home versus a foster cat room. She needs to be in a home with people who will play with her and give her lots of attention. She needs to see that love isn't bad at all! She has come a long way with that! Just be patient and you will have a wonderful cat on your hands. She has soft, fluffy hair with a big bushy tail that's hard to see in the photos. She rarely needs brushed and doesn't get mats in her coat easily. She is just all around the perfect cat! Veronica travels well in a crate. She is perfectly tidy with the litter box. She uses a litter robot now, but I've also provided large shallow totes like you store things under a bed. They are about 6 inches deep. These make excellent litter boxes! Veronica uses anything provided however. She is not picky about litter. I use Tidy Cats in the litter robot and Catalyst Litter in the regular boxes. It's like a sawdust type of litter, and she uses it perfectly. She doesn't have a problem using different types or brands of litter. Currently Veronica is eating Friskies wet and dry cat food. Of course she would do best on a higher quality food. Veronica does well with other cats. I have not tested her with dogs but I'm sure she would be fine with non aggressive dogs. Is this beautiful girl the new queen of your castle?
