Maverick, nicknamed “Talk Boy," is the only boy in the M litter, and what a boy he is! He is an alpha-cat through and through, with a big, outgoing personality. Of the litter, he is always the first to explore and try new things. T alk Boy is a person-oriented cat and wants to be the center of attention; he frequently squeezes between his sisters and whomever is “accidentally” petting them instead of him. Obviously, he is also a talker, and he expects you to listen! Sometimes he squeaks a little bit so you won't forget that he is there-- just sitting behind you, or lounging in the next room, or visiting the litter pan... 

 

One of the many great things about Talk Boy is that he  loves playing (although he is not very coordinated) and cuddling in equal measures. He likes to be picked up and carried around cheek-to-cheek. When its nap time, he will curl up on a lap, even if he has to bite and harass his sisters to clear it out! Talk Boy’s coat is currently rather short after ringworm treatments, but we think it will grow back on the longer side (like his ear hair!). He is much larger than his siblings, and judging by his cartoonishly big feet, he may grow up to be a big cat He will do best in a home with at least one other young, energetic cat who will wrestle, chase and play but who won't mind Talk Boy keeping the upper hand. We recommend his sister, Mandy.

 

The M Litter had a rough start. Mom-cat, Mazie, taught her kittens that hissing and hiding is the best way to deal with people and other animals; even though the family has warmed up, they remain initially skittish. Adopters should bear in mind that these cats will likely require patience and slow introductions. As with all kittens, playing with them will go a long way to building their confidence.  Talk Boy plays  rough and dominates other cats, and  sometimes he forgets that people  aren't other cats, especially if he is restless or "in the zone."  For these reasons, homes without small children are preferred. 

 

Other notes about Talk Boy: he lived through a "failure to thrive" incident when he was a baby, thanks to an alert and attentive foster mom. Talk Boy was a total momma's boy when he was little, always doting and checking on his mom, Mazie.
